A video circulating online claims to show Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, the Chief of the Air Staff, sharply criticising the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Tejas fighter jet during a press briefing.

“I already told Indian government not to fly this and not to induct this in Air Force, but they did not listen to us. And see, this happened today. This is not plane. This is samosa. And samosas are not meant to fly,” the IAF chief is heard saying in the nine-second video, purportedly referring to the Tejas fighter jet that crashed during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show on Friday (November 21, 2025), killing the pilot, Wing Commander Namansh Syal.
Searches for “IAF Chief” and “Tejas fighter jet” produced no credible news reports confirming the alleged statement. Official Indian Air Force social media accounts also carried no such information.
A reverse image search of keyframes led us to this October 3, 2025 press briefing on the occasion of the 93rd Air Force Day, showing the IAF chief in the same setting. The annual presser predates the crash.

PIB took to X on November 23, 2025 to debunk the viral video, stating that it is AI-manipulated and that it wrongly shows Air Chief Marshal AP Singh criticising the Tejas fighter jet
