Viral Video of Sudha Murty Endorsing Dubious Investment Platform Is Doctored

Claim

A viral video claims that Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murty is endorsing Quantum AI, a “government-approved” AI-based financial platform that promises passive income.

Fact

A keyword search for “Sudha Murty, investment platform”  did not yield any credible news reports or official announcements indicating that the Rajya Sabha member has endorsed any such financial app.

A reverse image search on a keyframe from the viral clip led us to a YouTube video by BeerBiceps, dated February 26, 2021. The video features Sudha Murty in the same attire and background seen in the viral footage. However, at no point in the original interview does she mention Quantum AI, confirming that the viral clip does not match her actual statements.

Careful analysis of the circulating video reveals several visual inconsistencies indicating AI manipulation: noticeable lip-sync mismatch, blurring around the lower jaw, and moments where the earphone wire appears to merge unnaturally with her face. The audio also sounds unnaturally fast and lacks natural pauses.

A segment of the clip evaluated on Deepware Scanner was flagged as suspicious.  When the audio was tested through Deepfake-O-Meter, three out of five detectors assessed it as having a 100% likelihood of being AI-generated. Multiple audio portions checked on Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector were labelled “likely deepfake.” Similarly,  Resemble AI also marked the audio as fake.

Newschecker has previously debunked multiple AI-altered videos falsely showing Sudha Murty and her husband, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, endorsing dubious investment schemes. The same can be seen here, here and here.

Hence, the viral clip allegedly showing Sudha Murty promoting ‘Quantum AI’ is AI-manipulated.
