A 121-year-old man sings for his deceased wife on America’s Got Talent (AGT).
The archived version of the post can be seen here. We received this video on our Whatsapp tipline (+91-9999499044), too, from multiple users requesting us to fact-check it.
Newschecker ran a keyword search for “121-year-old man audition AGT,” which did not lead us to any credible reports or records of such an audition.
We noticed the incorrect spelling of “American” and the garbled text meant to state “talent”, the overly glossy texture of the video and the contestant’s unnatural movements while singing, all signs pointing towards AI-generated media. We also noticed the watermark of AI video generator “Vidu,” along with its logo, in the bottom-right corner.
A further search led us to the same video, uploaded on Youtube on April 27, 2025, which states, “This video features an AI-generated simulation inspired by talent shows like AGT, depicting a fictional 121-year-old man singing for his late wife. It is created for entertainment and emotional storytelling purposes only and does not represent a real event or participant.”
“Get ready for tears, inspiration, and jaw-dropping moments on PixelPerformanceHub! We bring you the most emotional talent show performances, crafted entirely by Artificial Intelligence,” read the description of the channel, Pixel Performance Hub, which features more such videos generated by AI, further confirming that the viral video is AI-generated.
