AI/Deepfake
Video claims to show a three-headed baby elephant in a village in India.
We received this video from a user on our Whatsapp tipline (+91-9999499044), requesting us to fact-check it.
Newschecker noticed certain visual anomalies usually associated with AI-generated imagery, such as the visuals being captured on the mobile phones not matching the scene, along with the unnatural stillness and distorted faces of some of the villagers in the 20-second video. Moreover, we noticed several users sharing the video using the hashtags #aiart, #aiillusion, #soraai, further raising our doubts.

Newschecker ran a screengrab of the video past WasitAI, which said, “There is some chance that this image, or parts of it, was created by AI.” We then ran the video past Hive Moderation, an AI-content detection tool, which found it 99.9% likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content. Similarly, we ran the video past SightEngine, which found it 99% likely AI-generated, further confirming the video is not real.
