Video shows massive turnout during a recent RSS march in Karnataka's Sedam.
The viral video does not show RSS volunteers marching in Sedam, Karnataka. It is an old video from Nagpur, Maharashtra, filmed during an RSS route march in May 2025.
A video claiming to show the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteers undertaking a massive route march in Sedam, Karnataka, despite being denied permission by the authorities, has gone viral on social media platforms.
Newschecker, however, found the claim to be untrue.

🔹 A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral clip led to a post by news agency PTI, dated May 25, 2025, featuring a shorter version of the same video. The caption read: “Maharashtra: RSS workers hold route march near Reshimbagh in Nagpur.”

🔹 Another post from ANI (May 25, 2025) carried similar visuals, corroborating that the footage shows an RSS procession from Nagpur, Maharashtra and not from Karnataka.
🔹 Geo-location analysis using Google Street View matched several landmarks visible in the viral clip to those in Nagpur, further verifying the correct location.

🔹 Notably, the RSS did recently hold a route march in Sedam, Karnataka despite being denied permission by the authorities. Police briefly stopped and detained participants, leading to tensions, but later released them. The march resumed through residential areas, with locals welcoming the activists by showering flower petals.
