Fact Check
A video is circulating online, showing Pakistani army personnel dancing and firing in celebration, allegedly amid the recent clashes with Afghan forces.

Afghanistan said that it killed 58 Pakistani soldiers and captured 25 army posts in overnight border operations, adding that it was retaliating against repeated Pakistani violations of its territory. Pakistan, however, reported 23 troop deaths, and claimed it had neutralised 200 Taliban and affiliated terrorists.
The clashes erupted after Afghan accused Pakistan of recently bombing Kabul and a market in eastern Afghanistan, an attack Pakistan has not acknowledged. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called the Afghan strikes “unprovoked” and warned of strong retaliation.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral clip led us to a Facebook post by @captain.umar.yousafzai, dated June 17, 2022, which contained a longer version of the video. This indicates that the footage existed well before the recent border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Further investigation revealed additional sources tracing the video even further back. A YouTube video uploaded in September 2020 by @wakhtuna2190 shows the same footage, and another YouTube upload from March 21, 2020, by @BeTechTv also features Pakistani soldiers dancing in the same sequence.

These findings make it clear that the video is not related to the recent Afghanistan-Pakistan border conflict. While we could not independently verify every detail about the origin of the footage, its presence online dating back to at least March 2020 proves that it predates the latest tensions and is being falsely linked to the current situation.
