A reverse image search of the viral clip traced it to a CNN Arabic report from February 18, 2023, which covered a militant attack on a police headquarters in Karachi. The incident took place on Faisal Street, a major city artery near key routes and paramilitary posts.
A BBC report from February 18, 2023, featuring the same video, detailed the Pakistani Taliban attack on the police headquarters. “Security forces regained control after several hours and killed all three militants, a government spokesman said. Three police officers and a civilian were killed in the attack,” the report added.

Multiple other outlets (seen here, here, and here) also covered the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) attack in Karachi in February 2023. Further, we could not find any credible reports of an attack on the Marriott Hotel, Islamabad amid the recent Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict.

Hence, it is clear that an old and unrelated video has been falsely shared to depict an attack on a hotel in Islamabad amid tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
