RSS workers attacked a Christian school in Telangana
The clip is not from Telangana and does not show an attack on a Christian school. The footage is from a mass marriage event in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, where attendees rushed food counters and looted snacks on November 25, 2025.
A viral video circulating on social media claims that RSS workers attacked Christians in Telangana. It alleges that Hindutva supporters assaulted Father Ramon Joseph, principal of St. Mother Teresa Catholic School in Mancherial, and forcibly applied a tilak on his forehead.

A Google Lens search of the viral video led to multiple news reports identifying the location as Rath town in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. Outlets such as Aaj Tak, UP Tak, Live Hindustan and Zee Uttar Pradesh Uttarakhand reported that the visuals were from a mass marriage ceremony held on November 25, 2025.
Navbharat Times and Aaj Tak reported on November 26 that the UP government’s social welfare department organised the large-scale event at Brahmanand Inter College. A total of 402 couples had registered, and 380 weddings were conducted during the event.
According to Navbharat Times, chaos broke out when attendees rushed to the food counters. Hundreds of people pushed forward to grab sweets, snacks, chips and chowmein, eventually leading to complete looting of the items kept at the counters.
Municipal council president Srinivas Budhauliya was quoted in a report saying that food and drinks had been arranged for all guests at the wedding, but people from the crowd began picking up items from the counter and taking them away. He added that the chaos broke out only after the wedding rituals had concluded.
Meanwhile, Newschecker contacted a member at the Rath Municipal Council who confirmed that the video was indeed from the mass marriage ceremony. He explained that once the weddings ended and snacks were being served, people stormed the counters and took chips, aloo bondas and other items. He also identified some individuals seen looting the packets as grooms who had participated in the ceremony.
We did not find any credible news coverage of a recent incident involving a Catholic school or its staff in Telangana. However, in April 2024, a missionary-run school in the Mancherial district was attacked following a dispute over students wearing saffron religious clothing. According to a report by the Indian Express, the school had informed students that they needed prior permission from their parents to attend classes without the standard uniform. This led to a confrontation in which a group of villagers entered the campus and some men surrounded Principal Joseph, assaulted him, and forcibly applied a tilak on his forehead.
