Viral videos show massive protests in Bihar after the election results showed a clear majority for incumbent NDA.
The videos do not show any protests linked to the Bihar election results. Both clips are old and originate from Assam and Maharashtra, respectively.
Following the NDA’s thumping majority in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections, several videos claiming to show massive protests in the state surfaced on social media. Newschecker investigated two such clips and found them to be old and unrelated to the Bihar poll results.
An aerial shot shows large crowds packed into the streets, protesting in Bihar after the poll results

A reverse image search of keyframes from the aerial clip traces the footage to an Instagram post by Tinsukia Unofficial dated September 21, 2025, showing the funeral procession of singer Zubeen Garg in Guwahati, Assam.
India Times also reported on the procession, carrying the same visuals and a closer shot of the vehicle carrying Garg’s mortal remains.

A Deccan Herald report described how “thousands of grieving fans thronged to pay their final respects.” “Mourners stood in long queues through the night, waiting patiently for a last glimpse of the 52-year-old singer, whose mortal remains lay in a glass casket adorned with the traditional Assamese gamosa. Many paid tributes with flowers and gamosas, while others captured emotional moments on their mobile phones,” it stated.
It also featured the images of the same vehicle covered with the “gamosas” as seen in a closer shot of the vehicle

The video shows a massive crowd protesting against “unfair elections” in Bihar.

The video does not show protesters in Bihar. It captures a bullock-cart race held in Pedgaon, Satara district, Maharashtra. The same footage previously circulated falsely claiming to show a crowd at PM Modi’s rally in Rajasthan and was debunked by Newschecker on September 26, 2025.
