Bihar Assembly Election 2025
A viral video shows Patna residents holding a torchlight protest against the BJP and the Election Commission over alleged vote theft in the Bihar Assembly elections.
The claim is false. The video is from Jaipur, Rajasthan, showing a torchlight procession by supporters of an activist during his hunger strike. It has no link to Patna or the Bihar polls.
A video circulating on social media shows residents of Patna holding a massive torchlight protest against the BJP and the Election Commission, alleging vote theft in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections that resulted in a sweeping NDA victory.

The same video had gone viral in October 2025 with the false claim that it showed Gen-Z youth in Uttar Pradesh holding a torchlight rally supporting the Yogi Adityanath-led government over the ‘I love Muhammed’ row, which was debunked by Newschecker.
Newschecker found that the video is unrelated and from Jaipur, Rajasthan. It shows a procession organised by supporters of politician Naresh Meena, who had been on a 14-day hunger strike demanding justice for families of children killed in the Piplodi school tragedy in Jhalawar.
