Bihar Assembly Election 2025
BJP leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary criticised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of betraying JDU workers.
The viral video is old and dates back to September 2023, long before Nitish Kumar rejoined the NDA in January 2024.
A video purportedly showing BJP leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary criticising JDU leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has gone viral on social media amid the ongoing Assembly elections. The clip has sparked discussions about the internal dynamics of the NDA alliance, as the parties contested the polls together.
In the video, Choudhary is allegedly heard saying, “Nitish Kumar ji has betrayed all the JDU workers. Every JDU worker now knows that Nitish Kumar will be completely finished in 2025, and his political reputation will also end.”

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to a report by ETV Bharat, dated September 13, 2023, which stated that senior leaders of the RJD and JDU were meeting party workers and discussing potential candidates. The report also mentioned that questions were being raised about the absence of JDU National President Lallan Singh from the meeting, while the BJP had launched a strong criticism of the Chief Minister.
The same report featured a longer version of the viral clip, in which Samrat Choudhary can be heard sharply criticising Nitish Kumar.
The full video was also found on Samrat Choudhary’s official Facebook page, posted on the same date. The caption accompanying the original post read:
“Nitish Kumar has duped all the workers of the Janata Dal United. He has been deceiving people for the last 28 years. Even the JDU national president doesn’t know who will receive a ticket…”

At the time of the recording in 2023, the JDU and BJP were political rivals. Nitish Kumar later returned to the NDA alliance in January 2024 ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls, months after the original clip was posted.
Notably, in his more recent interviews ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, Samrat Choudhary reaffirmed that Nitish Kumar would continue as Chief Minister if the NDA retained power.

The video of Samrat Choudhary criticising Nitish Kumar is not recent. It dates back to September 2023, before the two parties reunited under the NDA alliance. The claim suggesting that Choudhary made the remarks during the ongoing 2025 assembly elections is misleading.
Q1. Is the viral video of Samrat Choudhary attacking Nitish Kumar recent?
No. The video is from September 2023, not related to the 2025 Bihar elections.
Q2. Were BJP and JDU allies when this video was recorded?
No. At that time, both parties were political rivals. Nitish Kumar rejoined the NDA in January 2024.
Q3. What is the current equation between Samrat Choudhary and Nitish Kumar?
As of now, both leaders are part of the NDA alliance and contested elections together in Bihar.
